Introduction

In 2025, the Scolab platform has been rapidly expanding, broadening its range of products for secondary school students. My role in this project was to ensure that students could activate their accounts easily and efficiently, avoiding duplicate profiles and giving them greater autonomy throughout the process.

Challenges

Challenges

The main challenge of this project was to design an activation flow that allowed secondary school students to activate their own accounts independently, as teachers at this level often manage multiple classes.

The solution

The solution

Code Activation

A code activation feature was developed, providing teachers with an 8-digit code that lets students access the platform and complete their own onboarding. This solution simplifies access, reduces teacher workload, and promotes a more autonomous and seamless enrollment experience for students.

Secondary school student who already has an account

Secondary school student who already has an account

When a student enters the code provided by their teacher, the system automatically identifies them as a secondary school student and prompts them to enter their email address.

If the email matches an existing account, the student is asked to enter their password to log in.

Creating a new account

If the email is not recognized, the student is guided through the process of creating a new account.

Scolab portal

Scolab portal

Once a high school student activates a class code that includes only one active product (for example, Netmath), they will see the Netfrançais card in the Scolab portal, but it will be disabled and cannot be clicked.

To activate it, the student must enter a new class code that includes Netfrançais. This can be done by restarting the activation process or by clicking the button located at the top right of the interface.

Final thoughts

Final thoughts

The Activation project, together with Class Management, enabled the activation of over 314K Netmath students and more than 71K Netfrançais students.

My role was to design a seamless flow that guided users to join their teacher’s class effortlessly. Depending on whether the student was already registered or not, the experience led them to either create an account or simply log in, eliminating unnecessary steps and reducing friction.
